امروز می خواهم شما را با یکسری اصطلاحات بسکتبال آشنا کنم.
Dime (دايم)
An assist
پاس منجر به گل.

Downtown
The area on the offensive side of the three-point line.
ناحيه اي از منطقه خط پرتاب سه امتيازي درمنطقه حمله.

Dunk (دانك)
A type of shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball through the basket with one or both of his hands.
آبشار.
نوعي از پرتاب ميباشد بدين صورت كه بازيكني به سمت حلقه پريده و با قدرت تمام توپ را با يك و يا دو دست خود وارد حلقه كند.

Forward
One of the three standard player positions, forwards are primarily responsible for scoring and rebounding.
مهاجم.
يكي از سه موقعيت استاندارد بازيكن ميباشد، از وظايت اصلي مهاجمان امتياز گرفتن و ريباند كردن ميباشد.

Free throw
An unopposed attempt to score a basket, worth one point, from the free throw line. Generally, two attempts are awarded when the player is fouled in the act of shooting (three attempts are awarded in the case of three point shot), fouled flagrantly, or when the opposing team fouls while over the foul limit. One attempt is awarded for technical fouls.
پرتاب آزاد.

-Foul
Actions by players which break the rules but are not floor violations; penalized by a change in possession or free-throw opportunities.
خطا.
عملي توسط بازيكنان كه منجر به نقض قانون شده اما نه خطاي ناك دان، كه با تغيير در مالكيت توپ و يا پرتاب آزاد جريمه ميشود.

Half-time
Occurs after the conclusion of the first two quarters.
وقت استراحت.
بعد از پايان اولين نيمه بازي ( دو تا ...... دقيقه ) درخواست ميشود.

-In-n-out
A shot that appears to be sailing in, but doesn't drop.
شوتي كه به نظر ميرسد در داخل زمين سير ميكند، اما ...........

Jump shot
A shot made while jumping.
شوتي كه درهنگام پرش جفت پا در هوا زده ميشود

Lay up (لِي آپ)
A field goal attempt made by below, laying the ball up near the basket, and using one hand to tip the ball over the rim and into the basket (layin) or to bank it off the backboard and into the basket (layup).

Man-to-man defense
A defense designed to allow each player on a team to guard one player from the other team when on defense, as opposed to guarding an area of the floor on defense.
دفاع نفر به نفر.
دفاعي كه طراحي شده تا بازيكنان هر تيم بصورت نفر به نفر از بازيكنان تيم مقابل كه بعنوان حريف مقابل درمنطقه دفاع هستند، مقابله كنند.

The National Basketball Association, the largest professional league in the United States.
اتحاديه ملي بسكتبال، بزرگترين و حرفه اي ترين ليگ در ايالات متحده ميباشد.

Outlet pass (آوت لِت پَس)
A pass thrown by a rebounder to start a fast break.
پاس از زير حلقه.
پاسي كه ريباندر بعد از ريباند كردن جهت شروع سريع ضدحمله به هم تيمي خود ميدهد.

Pass
When a player throws the ball to a teammate; used to start plays, move the ball downcourt, keep it away from defenders and get it to a shooter.
پاس.
زمانيكه بازيكني توپ را به هم تيمي خود پرتاب ميكند براي شروع بازي و انتقال توپ به سمت زمين حريف، حفظ توپ از مدافعان و دادن توپ به پرتاب كننده را پاس گويند.

Rebound
Obtaining the ball after a missed field goal attempt
ريباند.
تلاش براي تصاحب توپ بعد از اينكه شوتي منجر به گل نشد را ريباند گويند.

Set shot
A field goal that is shot from a stationary position.
شوت درجا.
گل مردودي كه از موقعيت ثابت پرتاب شده است.

Shot clock
A timer designed to increase the pace (and subsequently, the score) in basketball games, preventing the tactic of killing the clock. The offensive team must attempt a field goal before the shot clock expires, and the ball must then either touch the rim or enter the basket. Failure to hit the rim or make a shot within the time given (24 seconds in the NBA) would result in loss of possession.
A clock that limits the time a team with the basketball has to shoot it to a given amount of time.

Swish (سواِش)
When a shot goes through the net without hitting the backboard or rim.
گل بدون برخورد با حلقه.
به گلي گفته ميشود كه توپ بدون برخورد به تخته و يا تور از حلقه عبور كند (مصطلح به مغزي).

Three-point field goal
A shot attempted anywhere from behind the three-point line of the defending team that, if successful, is worth three points.
منطقه گل سه امتيازي.
شوتي كه تلاش ميشود از هرجايي از پشت خط سه امتيازي تيم دفاع كننده زده شود، كه درصورت موقفيت آميز بودن آن منجر به گرفتن سه امتياز ميشود.

Toilet bowl (تايلِت بُل)
When the ball hits the rim on a certain angle and goes in a circular motion around it, can go in or out.
كاسه توالت.
زمانيكه توپ با زاويه معيني به حلقه برخورد كرده و در محيط حلقه شروع به چرخيدن نمايد كه دراين حالت ممكن است توپ به داخل و ياخارج حلقه رود را گويند.

Traveling (ترَوِلينگ)
A violation that occurs when a player holding the ball illegally moves one or both of his feet without dribbling.
